ASCAP (re)Elects Board of Directors

2015 has marked some personnel shifts in ASCAP’s world. They hit the ground running by kicking off the New Year with Elizabeth Matthews taking over as CEO.

In a letter to the staff Matthews sent out shortly assuming her new role, she hinted at some serious moving a shaking in the near future.

“In the coming months, we will embark upon several new initiatives to turn ASCAP into an even more flexible, adaptive licensing and service organization that anticipates the needs of our constituents and provides them with best-in-class, innovative new tools and services.”

But with all that shifting, certain things remain steadfast.

“We will be doing a lot of things differently in the months to come, but we will stay true to the core values of ASCAP because those values are the reason that so many of us choose to work here.

”Looks like some of those core values are the Board of Directors!

April 1st marked the the beginning of the two-year term for ASCAP’s new(ish) board of directors. Of the twenty-four positions (12 writers and 12 publishers), twenty-three were re-elected.

We look forward to what Matthews has in store over the next few months. What will flexibility, adaptivity, and innovation look like to her? We'll just have to wait and find out! What we do know: now she has the best team possible to guide her along the way -- they’re the ones who elected her!
